BurketownBurketown Energy Efficiency Project

CAT Projects was engaged by the Queensland Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI) to develop and implement an energy efficiency program in Burketown, a small settlement in the Gulf region of western Queensland in the first half of 2010.

Commercial energy audits were performed at the majority of non-residential properties providing business owners with a report of current energy usage and a list of recommendations they can undertake to reduce electricity consumption.

Working in conjunction with the Burke Shire Council a training program and associated resources were developed and implemented with a group of local residents who then went on to consult householders about their energy use and work with them to nominate a selection of behaviours that their household can undertake to help reduce their energy costs.
